LAABS Audio is built as a self-contained, client-side application for connecting to self-hosted Audiobookshelf servers. Our guiding principle is simple: your data belongs to you, and we do not want it.
🔒 Zero Data Collection
LAABS Audio does not run any application servers, database servers, or analytics/tracking systems. We collect absolutely zero personal information, usage data, or server configuration details.
1. Connection to Your Audiobookshelf Server
LAABS Audio connects directly from your iPhone to the Audiobookshelf server URL you specify. All network communication occurs directly between your device and your server. No intermediary servers, proxies, or relays are used.
2. On-Device Credentials & Storage
Any connection configuration, including your server address, username, and authentication tokens, is stored securely on your local device. Your audiobook files, bookmark metadata, playlists, custom bookshelf configurations, and imported ambient audio tracks are also stored entirely locally on your iPhone.
3. On-Device Services (Speech Recognition)
The clip transcription feature uses Apple's native speech recognition APIs. Speech transcription processing is performed entirely on your physical iOS device. No audio recording data, transcripts, or narration snippets are transmitted to or analyzed by LAABS Audio or any third parties.
4. Analytics and Tracking
We do not use third-party analytics libraries, advertising SDKs, crash report collectors (outside of standard opt-in Apple App Store crash logging), or user behavior trackers. Your listening habits, server metadata, and app interactions stay completely private.
5. Changes to This Policy
Because we do not collect any user contact information, we cannot notify you of updates directly. Any updates to this policy will be posted on this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
